There are generally two kinds of projects: New Construction, & Remodel Projects.

New Construction is just that, a new home or condo just being built. This means the walls are open, and electrical wiring can still be determined.

Remodel Projects are existing properties, which can be in various stages of construction.

You can have fabulous home entertainment in either, but knowledge is power in both cases.

New Construction Projects:

A common mistake that many people make is waiting until the last minute to choose an Electronics System Contractor (ESC), like IntelligentDesign. It is very important to choose your ESC as early as you are choosing your General Contractor, Interior Designer, even your Architect.

The very beginning of a project is when you decide where everything will go, and then the pros on the job will make sure everything fits and works the way it should. Now is the time that IntelligentDesign will make sure that you have all the wiring you need, enough electrical outlets in the right places, and cut holes for speakers.

Now is also the time for you to decide where you want your equipment to go. Blu-Ray players, X-Boxes, Playstations, WII, Cable Boxes, Satellite Recievers, Audio Receivers, they all have to go somewhere! We can help you decide whether you want to stash it in a piece of furniture, or hide it away in a closet. What’s really great is that all of the equipment running your entire home, can be hidden away in one spot. Out of your way, but easy to get to if you ever want to add anything, or need service.

We can even work with your Interior Designer, Millworker, and you to create a custom piece of furniture, both beautiful and functional.

Where you want the “bones” and “brains” of your system should be determined early.

Remodel Projects:

If you are starting a Remodel project, it’s important to get IntelligentDesign in early, just like you would for New Construction. This is because your walls will probably be open, and wires and outlets can easily be added.

Don’t worry if you are doing a project where the walls will not be open, many projects can be done with minimal cutting into the walls, some are even wireless.
